HANOI, VIETNAMThe Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has lifted the ban on the Boeing 737 MAX jets. The decision came after the country's regulatory body evaluated safety measures that the manufacturer has added.

Boeing 737 MAX was involved in two major accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia which killed 346 people before it was grounded around the world in March 2019.

So far, 178 of 195 aviation authorities in the world have lifted their bans on the jet, and over 360 aircraft are in operation again. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration lifted the ban on the jet in December 2020 after Boeing made changes in its problematic flight control system called MCAS.
