MILAN, ITALY — The German Charter operator German Airways terminated the sub-dry-lease agreement of its Embraer E190 with Italia's Milan, Malpensa-based regional startup airline EGO Airways, over confrontations on the interpretation of the contract.

The E190 with registration I-EGOA was ferried from Parma to Cologne on December 29, 2021. The Embraer aircraft owned by the Fort Lauderdale-based American lessor Azorra Aviation was EGO Airways' sole aircraft.

The Italian carrier had launched its operations on March 28, 2021, but was inactive since September 2021. The airline tried to resume operations since then, but its plans to re-launch domestic flights on December 1st never occurred.

It is not clear if and when the carrier plans to restart its scheduled services.
