CALGARY, CANADACanadian ultra-budget startup Lynx Air begins operations from April 22 on five domestic routes.



The airline has opened ticket sales for flights from Calgary to Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Kelowna.

Lynx has announced that it will operate a fleet of Boeing 737 family jets. The airline has firm orders and leasing agreements in place for a total of 46 aircraft over the next seven years to meet the anticipated demand. The airline’s first three Boeing 737 MAX 8s on orderare scheduled to arrive in early 2022.

”By May, Lynx will be operating 76 flights per week and that is just the beginning. We will continue to add destinations and routes as we ramp up for the busy summer season, offering even more choice and flexibility to Canadians," said Chief Executive Officer Merren McArthur.
