LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIASlovenian operator Amelia International took delivery of an ATR 72-212 at Ljubljana Airport for its future cargo operations.

In recent months, the health crisis has had a strong impact on the international economy, driving the growth of e-commerce and emergency restocking.

As a direct consequence, the demand for air freight between European airports is growing rapidly. Many routes, previously served by aircraft such as the ATR 42, Saab 340, Embraer 120, etc., require higher capacity aircraft in order to meet the demand and to distribute all the goods.

To meet this demand, Amelia International, the Slovenian subsidiary of the French Amelia Group, is preparing to enter into service an ATR72-212 cargo aircraft. The aircraft landed at Ljubljana airport last week on Thursday and will remain based in the Slovenian capital.

This new aircraft is suitable for all cargo activities thanks to its 1000 nm range and a load capacity of up to 8.2 tonnes. Amelia is already working with several freight brokers and intends to develop this new offer quickly.
