BEIJING, CHINAChina's civil aviation body (CAAC) said that Comac's C919 still requires a significant amount of testing before commencing commercial operations.

So far, China's A320 and B737 competitor has completed only 34 certification tests out of 276.

Aircraft's launch operator China Eastern Airlines said in August that it was expecting to receive its first C919 by the end of the year, but after CAAC's statement, it doesn't seem likely.

COMAC did not bring the C919 to China's biggest air show in Zhuhai in September.
