HERAKLION —Critea-based low-cost Greek carrier SKY express is boosting its international network by introducing direct flights to Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Warsaw. This move is part of the airline's ongoing strategy to enhance its international footprint and offer greater connectivity options to passengers.

Following the inclusion of Munich Airport in October 2023, SKY express extends its reach in Germany by offering flights to Frankfurt International Airport, the nation's largest and Europe's third largest airport, and Düsseldorf International Airport, Germany's third largest air hub. Concurrently, the airline is paving the way for enhanced connectivity between Athens and North Central Europe, offering direct flights to Warsaw International Airport "Frederic Chopin", Poland's capital.

The addition of these three new destinations fortifies SKY express's dynamic international trajectory. The airline now operates the youngest fleet in Greece and offers flights to 15 international destinations, while maintaining the most expansive domestic route network across the country, covering 34 destinations.

The Chief Commercial Director of SKY express, Gerasimos Skaltsas, reflected on the expansion, stating, "Our commitment to creating more connectivity opportunities for the country by serving our passengers all year round on the most competitive terms is confirmed by the inclusion of these three strategic European airports in our flight schedule. This addition imparts further momentum to the execution of our long-term plan."

Bookings for the new routes are now open, with the inaugural flights slated for October 29, 2023. The new routes will operate with the following frequencies: Athens-Frankfurt six times weekly, Athens-Düsseldorf four times weekly, and Athens-Warsaw five times weekly.

Data reveals a robust organic growth for SKY express, forecasting an upward trend for 2023, including 54,000 flights, 4.4 million passengers, more than 65 destinations, and estimated earnings of 360 million.
