Avelo Opens New Era with exclusive nonstop services connecting Oregon's Willamette Valley to Southern California.

On June 13, the American regional, budget carrier Avelo Airlines revealed plans to introduce a nonstop service, bridging the greater Salem/Portland region to the bustling cities of Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

This announcement marks a significant milestone, as Salem Municipal Airport will witness commercial flights for the first time in nearly a decade and a half, with Avelo emerging as the solitary airline providing direct flights from SLE to the heart of Southern California.

Nestled in the vibrant Willamette Valley, Salem shares the region with approximately 100 other cities, including the likes of Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, and Beaverton. In an area that houses about 70% of Oregon's residents, Avelo's latest venture at SLE is set to redefine convenience for the residents, streamlining their commute to Southern California and Las Vegas.

As per the schedule, Avelo plans to roll out biweekly nonstop services every Thursday and Sunday, connecting Salem to Las Vegas, commencing on October 5, 2023. Parallelly, the airline will also operate a similar service on Fridays and Mondays between Salem and BUR starting October 6, 2023. However, this route will witness a change and adapt to the Thursday and Sunday timetable effective from November 2. The services for both these routes will be facilitated through Boeing 737s.

Presently, Avelo's wings span across 45 destinations in 24 states. By prioritizing underserved routes, primarily those catering to the lesser-served communities across the nation, the airline has ushered in a fresh epoch of convenience, options, and healthy competition in the air travel industry.
