DUBAI, UAE — United Airlines has commenced a daily nonstop service between New York/Newark and Dubai International Airport, marking its return to Dubai since 2016, using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

This move is a result of the airline's 2022 codeshare agreement with Emirates, aimed at enhancing the carriers' networks and facilitating customer access to hundreds of global destinations.

The service enables passengers from the US to connect with over 100 cities through Emirates or flydubai upon reaching Dubai. Travelers from Dubai can also benefit from United's connections to over 80 destinations across the Americas.

Patrick Quayle, United's SVP of Global Network Planning and Alliances, emphasized the ease of traveling to Dubai and connecting to partner destinations in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Majed Al Joker, COO of Dubai Airports, praised the service's contribution to strengthening DXB's links with the US. Sean Murphy, the US Chargé d'Affaires to the UAE, highlighted the route's potential to transport thousands of tourists, businesspeople, and families, further solidifying ties between the two countries.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, underscored the direct route's capacity to boost leisure and business travel between the US and Dubai. He said the nonstop flight aligns with Dubai's D33 agenda, aimed at solidifying its position as a top global city, while also appreciating United Airlines' support in promoting Dubai's tourism sector.
