SAO PAULO, BRAZIL — Embraer confirms that Spanish regional airline Binter, the flag carrier of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands, is the customer of a new firm order for five E195-E2 aircraft announced last week.

The planes will join the airline's fleet in 2023 and 2024. The list price value of the contract is US$389.4 million, which will be added to Embraer's Q4 backlog. Embraer had revealed the order on Nov. 30, but not the customer behind the deal.

Binter received its first E195-E2 in 2019 and now operates five of the Pratt & Whitney PW1900G-powered jets. The carrier's regional fleet also includes 26 ATR turboprops. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has so far received 227 orders for its largest new-generation E-jet.
