BUCHAREST, ROMANIARomanian freighter operator Rom Cargo Airlines is planning to expand its cargo transport network to the United States.





To this end, the carrier has recently filed an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for a foreign air carrier permit, and exemption.

Rom Cargo said that it was aiming to operate scheduled and/or chartered flights from the European Union to the US and beyond. No further comment was made by the company for potential routes or contracts.

Founded in 2021, Rom Cargo operates a single B747-400BCF on flights between Hong Kong International and Liège with stopovers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
