NEW YORKNew York Stewart Airport will see its first international flights since 2019 take off from Newburgh when Play Airlines, a low-cost carrier based in Iceland, begins direct service between Reykjavik and Stewart on June 9.

Play Airlines, which began operating in July 2021, will offer direct flights between Stewart and Iceland, with connecting service to 22 European cities, including London, Paris, Dublin, Copenhagen, and others.

To celebrate the new service, Play is offering introductory fares starting at $109 starting today until Feb. 7. The deal is valid for flights to 11 destinations on select days of the week, between September and October 2022. This includes flights leaving Stewart on Mondays to Iceland, Dublin, and Brussels; flights on Tuesdays to Berlin, Copenhagen, and London; and Sunday flights to Paris and Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Reykjavik-based carrier will begin international service from two other U.S. cities this spring: Baltimore Washington International Airport on April 20, followed by Boston’s Logan International Airport on May 11.
