Launch operator CSA takes delivery of first Airbus A319neo

TOULOUSE, FRANCE — Airbus has delivered the first A319neo to China Southern Airlines. With this delivery, the Chinese carrier became the first operator of the shortest variant of the A320neo family.

The Guangzhou-based airline had ordered two A319neo.

Both aircraft are powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines and configured to accommodate 136 passengers in total - four in business class, 24 in pearl economy class, and 108 in economy.

The aircraft will make its commercial debut in July and will be deployed on routes to hot-and-high airports above 8000 feet ASL.
