KUWAITThe board of directors of the Kuwaiti airline Jazeera Airways approved a deal to acquire 28 new-generation single-aisle jets from the European airframer Airbus.



The deal between the two companies costs around $3.4 billion and includes the delivery of 20 A320neos and eight A321neos jets to Jazeera Airways.

The order commitment had been signed at the Dubai Airshow last year in November and was subject to approval from the airline's board of directors. The delivery schedule of the aircraft will be determined at a later stage.

Jazeera Airways' also approved an agreement for the acquisition of two CFM spare engines in a $32.2 million deal.

The airline already operates an all-Airbus fleet of eight A320ceos and nine A320neos.
