MADRID, SPAINInternational Airlines Group subsidiary Iberia Airlines resumes its aircraft delivery schedule, after experiencing a significant recovery following the pandemic.



The carrier provided the following update on its fleet expansion:

The airline took delivery of one Airbus A350-900 in Feb. 2022 and two more A350-900s are expected to join the fleet during the 1st quarter of 2022. The aircraft will be deployed on the Spanish operator's long-haul routes. Iberia will take delivery of eight further A350-900s until 2024.

Two Airbus A320neos were received in Feb-2022. Four more of the same type are scheduled to arrive during the 1st half of 2022. With those deliveries, Iberia will be operating 14 Airbus A320neos in total from the 2nd half of 2022. A further three A320neos on order are scheduled for delivery through 2023.

The first of eight A321XLRs on order is expected to join the airline's fleet at the end of 2023. They will be deployed on trans-Atlantic routes and used to increase flight frequencies to some destinations.
