FORT LAUDERDALE, TEXASThe American regional airline operator Silver Airways leased two new ATR 42-600 aircraft from Amsterdam-based lessor TrueNoord.

The lessor delivered an ATR 72-600 to Silver Airways in May 2021.

“It is very encouraging to be involved in the recovery of the US market and supporting Silver Airways’ ATR fleet expansion plans with two new deliveries. The placement of these aircraft increases TrueNoord’s North American footprint and we look forward to further developing our activity in the region this year. This also marks the first ATR42-600s in the TrueNoord fleet and we are enthusiastic about acquiring more of these modern, fuel-efficient regional aircraft in the future,” Garry Topp, TrueNoord Sales Director – Americas, said.

Delivered to Silver Airways on a long-term operating lease, the aircraft will be operated on the routes to the south-eastern USA, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.

We have developed an excellent relationship with the TrueNoord team and appreciate their support as Silver expands its safe, reliable, and customer-friendly service to meet growing passenger demand as the US market continues to recover strongly,” Steve Rossum, CEO of Silver Airways said.

“The ATR is the perfect aircraft to enable efficient and reliable connectivity between vital short-haul routes, boosting domestic networks in this part of the US” Topp continues. “Silver Airways delivers an exceptional service to its customers, showcasing the role and economic value contemporary turboprops can provide in the US. We are proud to be part of Silver Airways’ continued growth,” Rossum added.
