MEXICO CITY, MEXICOThe Mexican cargo operator MasAir received its first Airbus A330-200P2F. The carrier is expected to take delivery of at least three more freighters of the same type.

The converted freighter was a 14.4-years-old Etihad Airways passenger jet with registration EI-MYY (MSN 868).

It was converted from passenger to freighter configuration at Dresden airport in Germany by Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), which is a joint venture between Airbus and ST Engineering.

The aircraft made its first post-conversion test flight on January 19. It is the first of two A330-200(P2F)s to be leased from Seattle-based lessor Altavair.

MasAir will also lease two more A330-300(P2F)s from Dublin-based lessor CDB Aviation. The planes with factory serials MSN 958 and MSN 964 are already under conversion by Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH at Dresden Airport.

The company currently operates one B767-200(SF), one B767-300(ERBDSF), and one B767-300F.
