LONDON, UKIndia's budget operator IndiGo announced the lease of five new ATR72-600 aircraft.

The turboprops, which were leased from the British lessor Falko Regional Aircraft, will join the Indian carrier's fleet before the year-end.

“I am thrilled to announce this deal with IndiGo which brings one of the world’s leading airlines as a new customer of Falko,” said BBAM CEO Mark Hughes.

“I am also pleased to see more market-leading ATR turboprop aircraft being added to Falko’s expanding portfolio. We continue to see strong potential for regional aircraft acquisitions in all regions and we are in a strong position to deploy more capital into the sector going forward,” he added.
