HAMBURG, GERMANYThe first Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 of Malta Air arrived at Malta International Airport. The aircraft was welcomed by Transport Minister Ian Borg, Malta Air CEO David O’Brien, and Civil Aviation D.G., Captain Charles Pace, who flew in on the first 737-8-200 flight to Malta.



The brand-new Boeing 737-8-200 is expected to improve Malta Air and the Ryanair Group’s network in Southern Europe. The Boeing MAX 8 variant, which was exclusively built for Ryanair Group, is able to carry 4% more passengers than the 737-800s, and reduce fuel consumption by 16% per seat, lower CO2 emissions by a similar amount, and cut noise emissions by 40%.

In addition to more seating, the 737 MAX 8-200 includes an additional exit door.
