HANOICDB Aviation, a wholly-owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., announced the delivery of the first of four Embraer E190 aircraft to the Vietnamese leisure carrier, Bamboo Airways.

According to the lessor, three more jets of the same type will be delivered within the timeframe of February and June 2021. The first E190-100LR arrived on January 24 at Bamboo Airways’ hub Nội Bài International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, and is expected to enter passenger service on the carrier’s niche routes connecting bustling cities with rising tourist attractions in the southwest region of Vietnam.

“We are very pleased to deepen our relationship with the Bamboo Airways team with the addition of these Embraer aircraft to their growing fleet,” said Sign Kadouh, CDB Aviation’s Head of Asia Pacific. “As Bamboo Airways eyes further roadmap development anchored in the carrier’s strategy to have a route network connecting all regions of Vietnam, we look forward to supporting their efforts to meet the increasing demand from the country’s burgeoning tourism industry.”

Dang Tat Thang, CEO of Bamboo Airways, commented: “It’s our honor to cooperate with CDB Aviation, who is well-known as a leading aircraft lessor worldwide. These E190 aircraft will complement the success of our three A320neo aircraft. Our continuous cooperation shows our partner’s credence in the operation and development of Bamboo Airways. On the other hand, CDB Aviation’s exceptional work lays the foundation for our 5-star service and first-class experience provided to every passenger. This further proves our credibility as a regular partner of giants.”

Peter Goodman, CDB Aviation’s Chief Marketing Officer, reiterated that members of “our commercial team are constantly on the lookout for opportunities in the Asia Pacific and all other markets to leverage the strength of our platform and innovative financing solutions backed by access to our robust fleet and order book to support the airlines’ growth plans and fleet enhancements.”
