XIANYANG — A new Chinese freighter operator, China Northwestern Cargo International Airlines has begun operations on Jan. 8 between Xian International Airport and Shanghai with a Boeing 737-300F.
The carrier plans to apply for international operation rights in due course. China Northwestern Cargo plans to expand its fleet to 20 freighters, comprising mainly 757-200Fs, by 2025 and expand its network to 30 domestic and international services.
China Northwestern International Cargo Airlines is a cargo joint-venture between Hangzhou YTO Express Airlines and Shaanxi Province Government. It has a registered capital of CNY1 billion (USD146.7 million). China Northwestern Cargo International Airlines received a public air transport carrier operation certificate from CAAC Northwest Regional Administration on 30-Dec-2020.
