MOSCOWRussia's Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic announced a shareholders' agreement on the establishment of a consolidated Far East airline will be signed by the end of Dec-2020.

The enterprises will be established on the basis of Aurora, which will be part of an alliance with regional airlines. The supervisory board for the Far Eastern airline will comprise representatives of all Far East Federal District regions, as well as Federal Government representatives. The airline is to enhance transport access to the Far East and develop the regional network. The routes to be operated by the carrier and the carrier's financial model have been determined.


The network is to cover more than 500 localities. The project also covers fleet modernization, the establishment of consolidated repair, supply and services infrastructure, and training centers. The Far East carrier is estimated to require a 186 aircraft fleet. 53 Russian aircraft are to be acquired by 2025. The carrier is expected to handle two million passengers p/a, including a minimum 283,000 passengers on local routes and 1.7 million passengers on interregional routes.
