ABU DHABIGulf-based giants Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways have not halted their flights to the UK although a highly mutated and fast-spreading strain of coronavirus was announced for London.

Both airlines said the flights to London UK’s have been continuing as planned.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued new restrictions, including travel ban during Christmas to limit the spread of he new coronavirus variant.

The latest disruption comes a month after UAE-UK flight services began operating on an “air corridor” basis, which means passengers don’t have to go through quarantine. Even prior to this, travel to the UAE from the UK had been showing signs of recovery - Emirates even began flying its A380 jets to Heathrow as early as July to meet rising demand.
