MADRID, SPAIN  Iberia's low-cost subsidiary Iberia Express has taken delivery of its first Airbus 321neo.

The aircraft registered EC-NGP (MSN 9478) was ferried from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Madrid Barajas Airport on July 3. The Spanish budget carrier will deploy the aircraft on routes from Madrid to Las Palmas and Tenerife Norte in the Canary Islands from July 16.

Iberia Express currently operates 19 Airbus A320-200 and four Airbus A321-200. The narrowbody fleet of parent Iberia includes a further eleven Airbus A319-100s, 14 A320s, six A320-200neo, and 11 A321-200s.
