CALGARY, CANADA - Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier Swoop celebrates its second anniversary. The airline was founded on June 2020, 2018, in Calgary, Alberta. The airline has carried more than 2.5 million travelers to 17 destinations in four countries since then.

This summer, Swoop will add four cities to its network in Canada: Abbotsford, Edmonton, Hamilton, and Halifax. While very different from a normal summer season, the Canadian carrier says that the schedule is right-sized for the reduced demand and uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"As we adjust to the impacts of the pandemic, there's a lot that looks different, but our commitment to providing ultra-low fares and service to destinations in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean, remains the same. We know Canadians rely on access to affordable air travel to connect with loved ones, explore new places, or fly south for the winter,"

the company said in a recent statement.

"As we both reflect on the past and look ahead to the future, we are humbled and grateful for the support of Canadians on our journey to becoming Canada’s leading ultra-low fare airline."
