Algiers, Algeria - Algerian flag carrier Air Algérie has converted one of its eight Airbus A330-200s into a freighter.

The A330-200 with registration 7T-VJV has been inactive since March 21, 2020, but operated a test flight around Algiers airport on May 22. However, it has yet to be deployed onto any revenue cargo services.
"This solution allows us to maintain our company's operations and facilitates the loading and unloading of the aircraft, thereby reducing wear and tear on the seats,"the airline said.
Air Algérie has only one dedicated freighter, a Boeing 737-800BCF, which operates daily cargo services mainly between Algiers and Paris. The airline has also deployed some of its non-converted A330-200s on all-cargo flights during the pandemic.
