Basel, Switzerland - Lufthansa Group subsidiary Swiss International Air Lines is modifying four of its Boeing 777-300ERs in the fleet to use them as Freighters.

A few weeks ago, the airline revealed plans to remove all economy seats from three Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to increase cargo capacity. Now the Swiss flag carrier will modify for more 777-300ERs to meet the increasing cargo demand in the absence of passenger jets.

As of May 12, the airline added three more cargo routes to its network,   including Hong Kong, New York JFK, and Mumbai.

SWISS International carried out more than 200 cargo-only flights with passenger jets since March 2020. Another 160 cargo flights are expected by the end of June.
