Ulsan, South Korea - South Korean regional airline Hi Air is gearing up to acquire two more ATR 72-500 aircraft as it prepares to launch flights between South Korea and Japan by the end of 2020.

The first aircraft is expected to arrive in July while the second copy will join the fleet in late 2020. With the arrival of new planes, the airline will be operating an all ATR 72-500 fleet of four aircraft.

 Hi Air is also planning to add a further four ATRs in 2021 and then four more in 2022. The operator did not specify whether the aircraft planned for 2021 and 2022 would also be ATR72-500s.

Hi Air was founded in 2017 and began operations in December 2019  between Ulsan and Seoul.
