London, UK - British Airways does not offer any guarantee for its regional subsidiary CityFlyer crew for the time being. The airline closes an important regional subsidiary and cuts staff.

British regional carriers Flybmi ran out of money even before Covid-19, Flybe inflicted the death blow on the crisis in early March. Now, British Airways' CityFlyer is on the brink.

72 of the 248 CityFlyer pilots were laid off this week. Most of the cuts came for the Edinburgh base, which will cease operations soon. An insider said the British flag carrier will examine its entire regional business soon.

BA CityFlyer owns six Embraer E170 and 18 E190 jets.
