Almaty, Kazakhstan - Air Astana has begun freighter operations with three Boeing 767-300ER of which passenger seats, toilettes and kitchen were removed to carry cargo.

The plan was already to replace those planes with the new generation Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Air Astana's Boeing 767-300ERs are less seven years old, but the Kazakh carrier does not expect that the demand for air travel will return to pre-outbreak levels anytime soon.
