Valetta, Malta - Maltese ACMI specialist Maleth-Aero has acquired an Airbus A340-600 from Virgin Atlantic.

The aircraft is now deployed on relief flights between Asia and Europe and carries medical supplies to the European countries.

The aircraft was delivered to Virgin Atlantic in 2005 and flew passengers around the world for years. Due to the corona crisis, the British operator decided to phase out its all remaining A340s.

Maleth-Aero, which flies on behalf of third parties, is now the new owner of the 15-year-old quadjet. The aircraft still carries the colors of Virgin Atlantic, but now has large “Thank You NHS” writing on the hull to thank the British health staff fighting with the pandemic.
