Groningen, Netherlands - Groningen Airport Eelde will be used as a parking place in the coming days for inactive jets of airlines amidst the global health crisis.

One Fokker F70 and one Fokker F100 from Cyprus' TUS Airways were already stored at the airport on April 16. More aircraft, including Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s are expected to arrive soon.

Airline Technical Support (ATS), Koolhaas Alphen, Airline Fleet Support (AFS), Southern Cross and AEC Skyline are working together to ferry these planes to Eelde, maintain them there.

There is currently room for storage at Groningen Airport Eelde, as flight operations have been discontinued and training flights have also been canceled.

Groningen Airport Eelde is a small international airport in the northeastern Netherlands. It is located near Eelde in the Province of Drenthe. The airport is also the home base of the KLM Flight Academy.
