Toronto, Canada - De Havilland's Dash 8s rapidly disappear from the skies. Austrian Airlines (8th largest operator of the type in the world) and several other airlines ended their operations with the aircraft.

Austrian Airlines has already announced that it would retire its remaining 14 Dash-8-400 aircraft this year. Air Cote d’Ivoire, Air Tanzania, Aurora (Russia), CemAir (South Africa), Congo Airways, Icelandair, and Ulendo Airlink (Malawi) also ended their operations with Dash-8s this year following the pandemic crisis.

WestJet and Air Canada are now the largest Dash-8 operators in the world. Canadian airlines are followed by the Australian and US operators.
